On October 26, 2019, the Ninth China Medicinal Biotech Forum was opened in Shenzhen. It was hosted by the China Medicinal Biotech Association (CMBA) and co-organized by the Chinese Medicinal Biotechnology Magazine and Shenzhen Cheerland Biomedical Co., Ltd. Li Shaoli,  vice chairperson of the fifth session of CMBA, presided over the opening ceremony.Wei Yuquan,  chairman of the sixth council of CMBA and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Wang Zhixin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Chen Zhinan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician Xia Zhaofan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician Zhong Shizhen of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Qu Fenghong, deputy secretary-general of the CPPCC and full-time vice chairman and secretary-general of the PAP Central Committee, and Liu Ruyin, chairman of the Investment Group, attended the opening ceremony.

First, Chairman Wei Yuquan welcomed the guests and representatives of related industries, expressed his thanks to the community for their support for the work of the association, looked forward to the development of biomedicine in the new era, and expressed the determination of the association to contribute to the industry.

Qu Fenghong deputy secretary-general of the CPPCC and full-time vice chairman and secretary-general of the PAP Central Committee affirmed the association’s effort in regulating and promoting the development of the industry. He advocated industry peers to respond to the call of the Party Central Committee to build a "healthy China", seize the opportunity of the good era for biomedical development, and carry out in-depth research and development and active transformation to improve social welfare. At the same time, we must also standardize the orderly development of the biomedical industry to successfully accomplish our mission.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman Wei Yuquan also awarded the association's newly established Gene Editing Technology Branch and Synthetic Biotechnology Branch. So far the association has 32 branches.

The main forum was hosted by Academician Wang Zhixin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Academician Xia Zhaofan introduced the role of cell therapy in burn wound repair, Academician Chen Zhinan introduced new frontiers and advances of biomedicine in the new era, Academician Wei Yuquan made a report on Progress in Application of Biotechnology to Anti-Aging, and Academician Zhong Shizhen introduced the application of digital medicine and 3D printing technology in clinical orthopedics.

As one of China's medicinal biotechnology brand forums, this year’s China Medicinal Biotech Forum was themed on “Focusing on Cutting-edge Technology to Create the Future of the Industry”. It closely followed the development policy of the biomedical industry, showed the latest achievements at home and abroad, and promoted the construction of an industrial transformation platform. Under the leadership of the sixth council, CMBA will continue to make effort to create a new environment for the industry and association in the new era, and build a medicinal biotechnology industry chain with Chinese characteristics.
