On September 21st, “The 15th West China Hospital International Orthopaedic Forum & the 23rd Orthopaedic Conference of Sichuan Medical Association and the Academic Conference of the Osteopathic Committee of SCIMEA” were held in Chengdu. The conference honorably invited experts and scholars such as Academician Zhang Yingze, Professor Tang Peifu, Professor Liu Fan, etc. This conference aimed to promote the training of medical professionals in orthopedics in the province, improve the clinical skills of orthopedic surgeons, and strengthen academic exchanges. At the opening ceremony, Secretary General Zhang Mengfan of the Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association (SCIMEA) delivered a speech.

Secretary General Zhang Mengfan first introduced SCIMEA. The Secretary General stressed as follow, "We have the vision to take differentiated development of our association, and form our own original projects to drive the development of the entire industry. We hope to redefine the concept of association.” SCIMEA established the Orthopedic Committee on February 22 this year. More than ten professional committees have been established so far under the leadership of the association, and it is expected that no less than 20 special committees will be established before the end of this year.

Secretary General Zhang Mengfan also introduced the characteristic business section of SCIMEA, such as the establishment of academic journals, signing contracts with Nature and Wiley to launch high-end academic journals in English, conducting academic exchanges, establishing Department of Science and Technology, and regular holding of the “Famous Doctors Lectures" for wider popular medical science promotion.

In addition, it was noted that Secretary Zhang Mengfan innovated the concept of “agent for doctors, hospitals and corporate”. “In general, we hope to be able to serve as agent for doctors, hospitals and corporate in brand promotion. And in addition to brand promotion, we will also be engaged in personal profile promotion, cultural innovation products promotion, overall image promotion, and crisis dissolution."

At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Zhang Mengfan expressed her gratitude to the guests and wished the conference a complete success.
