On September 12, 2019, in order to further promote academic exchanges and development, regulate the management of ventilator in the Critical Care Department, and improve the overall ventilator management in the Critical Care Department, a ventilator training class sponsored by Zigong First People's Hospital, was successfully held in Zigong First People's Hospital. The lecture focused on hot and challenging issues in the clinical application of ventilators on critical care patients.
Professor Kang Yan, director of the Critical Care Committee of Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association (SCIMEA), and director of the Critical Care Department, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Du Zhongtao from Cardiac Critical Care Center, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, Professor Huang Xiaobo, deputy director of the Critical Care Committee of SCIMEA and director of SICU of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Liang Guopeng, ICU respiratory therapist of West China Hospital Sichuan University, and Professor Liu Yao from ICU Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University attended the training as special guests. Yang Mingquan, member of the Standing Committee of the Critical Care Committee of SCIMEA and director of the Critical Care Department of Zigong First People's Hospital, Zhou Jie, youth member of Special Committee of SCIMEA and deputy director of Zigong First People's Hospital, and Ding Juan, deputy director Zigong First People's Hospital, gave lectures on different topics for physicians from different hospitals in Sichuan.
Lectures
Professor Kang Yan
Director of Critical Care Department, West China Hospital, Sichuan University
[APRV: Airway Pressure Release Ventilation
New Choice of ARDS Mechanical Ventilation]
The importance of APRV is emphasized based on the pathophysiological disease factors of ARDS.
Professor Huang Xiaobo
Director of SICU, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital
[Thoughts on the Failure of VV-ECMO]
By analyzing the actual cases of VV-ECMO deaths, it is emphasized that medical team support, clinical dynamic adjustment and precision control are indispensable in ECMO application.
Professor Du Zhongtao
Cardiac Critical Care Center, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University
[Clinical Application of ECMO]
A comprehensive introduction to the advantages and disadvantages of ECMO clinical applications. The ultrasound data of on-site VA-ECMO cases was used to analyze its operation.
Professor Yang Mingquan
ICU of Zigong First People's Hospital
[Non-invasive Ventilation: Details Determine Results]
Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation and the basic requirements and common issues of ventilators of non-invasive ventilation were discussed based on the case of influenza that was experienced personally at the beginning of this year.
Professor Liang Guopeng
ICU, West China Hospital, Sichuan University
[Application of Ventilator NAVA]
The adverse consequences of human-machine confrontation in the conventional ventilation mode were discussed, and it was suggested that the NAVA model can significantly improve man-machine confrontation and provide the optimal respiratory support.
Professor Liu Yao
ICU, West China Hospital, Sichuan University
[Implementation and Observation of Prone Position Ventilation Strategy]
The flow and implementation of prone position ventilation were explained in detail regarding pathophysiological characteristics, indications, contraindications, evaluation implementation and key observation elements.
Zhou Jie
Deputy Chief Physician
ICU, Zigong First People's Hospital
[How to Regulate the Machine Removal]
The main process of machine removal was introduced. Normative processes and multi-dimensional assessment and implementation are important in machine removal.
Ding Juan
Deputy Chief Nurse
ICU, Zigong First People's Hospital
[Ventilator Maintenance and Repair]
From multiple perspectives, the use of ventilators in the Critical Care Department in Zigong First People’s Hospital was introduced, and the importance of ventilator management, training, reasonable staffing and regulated use of ventilators was emphasized.
A total of 100 people from medical institutions at all levels in Sichuan Province and Zigong First People's Hospital engaged in critical care, emergency medicine, and anesthesiology attended the training. Through this training, the medical practitioners of Zigong First People's Hospital have improved their overall ability on breathing technology, the core technology in the critical care area. Everyone expressed how much they had benefited from the training.
