On November 9, under the sponsorship of Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association (SCIMEA) and joint-organization of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the Inaugural Meeting of Hepatobiliary Surgery Special Committee of Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association was held in Chengdu. More than 100 people attended the meeting, including Yang Zheng, vice president of SCIMEA and vice president of West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, Wen Tianfu, director of Department of Liver Surgery of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, and other experts in related fields of hepatobiliary surgery in Sichuan Province.

At the beginning of the meeting, Wen Tianfu, director of Department of Liver Surgery of West China Hospital of Sichuan University made a report on the preliminary preparations of the Hepatobiliary Surgery Special Committee on behalf of the preparatory group. In the report he mentioned that with the strong support of the Secretary-General and experts of SCIMEA, after more than half a year of soliciting opinions and preparation, the Hepatobiliary Surgery Special Committee was officially established today. The committee will take the responsibility of building an international medical communication platform, focus on the improvement of medical standards and discipline construction, and integrate excellent medical resources to promote the development of health and medicine in hepatobiliary.

Then, the committee election was carried out, and all the participants voted to select the committee's leaders including chairman, vice chairman, and standing committee members.

 Yang Zheng, vice president of SCIMEA and vice president of West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University read out the Approval on the Establishment of the Hepatobiliary Surgery Special Committee of SCIMEA. Then Vice President Yang Zheng granted a letter of appointment for the newly elected chairman, and the newly elected chairman granted a letter of appointment for the vice chairman.

Wen Tianfu, newly elected chairman and director of the Department of Liver Surgery of West China Hospital Sichuan University, delivered a speech. He mentioned that the establishment of the committee built a comprehensive academic exchange platform for training grassroots doctors and conducting multi-center clinical research. With our joint efforts, there will be an integration of tradition, inheritance and innovation, which can jointly promote the progress and development of hepatobiliary surgery in Sichuan Province.

     Vice President Yang Zheng gave a brief introduction to the current situation and working ideas of SCIMEA. Committed to building a caring and warm home for medical workers, SCIMEA is a member-serving association based on the comprehensive platform. It is enterprise management oriented and featured by differentiated projects with the goal of promoting development in all fields.

     Through the establishment of an integrated platform for government-industry-university-research institution cooperation, we succeeded in working with top international publishers to found high-end English medical journals. We cooperate with Wenjiang, Meishan Economic Development Zone and other places, hosted international biomedical summit forums and exhibitions to promote academic exchanges and enhance influence of cities.
