The preparatory meeting was successfully held for Professional Medical Imaging Committee of SCIMEA in Chengdu in August 31, 2019.

Attendants include Song Bin, the Director of the Radiology Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Zhang Mengfan, the Secretary of SCIMEA, Li Zhenlin, Deputy Director of the Radiology Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Ning Gang, Director of West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University, Shen Jiang, Vice President of West China Forth University Hospital of Sichuan University, Jia Zhiyun, Deputy Director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Pu Hong, Deputy Director of the Radiology Department of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhou Yang, Director of The Ultrasonography Department of Chengdu Third People's Hospital, Liu Wenjun, Director of the Radiology Department of Zigong Forth People's Hospital, Shu Jian, Director of the Radiology Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, and Li Yong, Director of the Radiology Department of Suining Central Hospital.

At the beginning of the meeting, Zhang Mengfan, the Secretary of SCIMEA, introduced the work of SCIMEA. She said that the SCIMEA committed itself to becoming the home of medicine with prudent attitude toward medicine, abundant medical knowledge and humanization, and provides members and the industry with better services. The SCIMEA always advocated being an "extraordinary" association. Not only would it facilitate the development of medical industry in Sichuan Province through the differentiated development, but also it will promote the development of medical industry in the western China while promoting the communion.  In addition, Zhang Mengfan introduced the project development thoughts and work arrangement to present specialists, which referred to the major fields of the association including journal construction, academic exchange, government cooperation, science popularization and people-benefit activities.

Next, on behalf of the Professional Medical Imaging Committee, Director Song Bin reported the preparatory work of the Committee. In his report, he said that preparatory work of the Professional Medical Imaging Committee was carried out in line with the process system of SCIMEA. The work group selected representatives from areas when they carried out the preparatory. Specialists from representative areas such as Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, northern and southern Sichuan, and radiology department, ultrasonography department and department of nuclear medicine department of hospitals joined in the committee. Hence the Professional Medical Imaging Committee was a comprehensive and representative. For the selection of members, the Committee attached greater importance to practical specialists with great academic influence.

Present specialists discussed the preparatory work and development planning of the Professional Medical Imaging Committee. They discussed the development possibility of business including image cloud platform, the "homogenization" of imaging medicine in Sichuan, on-line assessment, on-line guidance and remote consultation. They analyzed and exchanged the development of international communication of medical image under the guidance of The Belt and Road Initiative.
