In this rainy season of July
My mind is no on hot weather, but on good memories
With a dream for future medicine
We meet on the beautiful campus of West China Medical Center
Thanks to the summer of 2019
When we meet you at West China Intensive Care
Summer Camp
Campers Remarks

I was very fortunate to have this opportunity to come to West China Hospital. What’s more, I was blessed enough to spend time at ICU. It was different from what I had thought. There was no depression or pain. Here I saw the human touch that I can’t find in other departments. I loved this place. I hope that we can meet again in this place next year, so that some seeds in my heart will bear fruits.

Which is best summer camp in China?
No doubt the one held by West China Hospital.
The enthusiasm and teachings of the seniors, and the sincerity and low-profile conducts of friends here injected vitality into my dreams this summer. At least, things do not so hard and tragic any more. As long as we don’t give up, the future is not far away. It is within our visibility, and we can stride forward to personally experience what is there.

Intensive care is an area that I wanted to know but without access. I am very grateful to have attended this summer camp where it brought me with a close understanding of this direction, and where I obtained a deeper insight of intensive care. In addition, as student long living in southeastern China, this trip to southwest China brought me a different lifestyle experience and understanding of humanity and history. It’s really an unforgettable experience. Of course, this experience is far from enough. So I’m really looking forward to my next trip to Chengdu! Right, next trip. I also hope that West China Hospital Intensive Care Summer Camp will get better and better! We just had some wonderful teachers and classmates here!

I did not expect this summer camp was such fun. It also introduced me to a new recognition of intensive care medical. I am very grateful to the teachers and staff in West China Hospital who provided us a chance to meet in the summer camp and become good friends!

It is no exaggeration to say that this trip to West China Hospital Intensive Care Summer Camp is really like a bright dream which drew me away from my routine life and broadened my horizons. I got a glimpse of a group of capable people who insist on something very cool. The ICU is by no means the front station of the mortuary. It is the big hand that determines the life and death of the patient. It is the wall of life that is supported by doctors’ skills, expertise, excellent overall decision-making ability, and the close cooperation among nurses, respiratory therapists and other teams.
I have really gained so much here, and I want to encourage my classmates as well as myself that one thousand miles begins with a single step!

I am very fortunate to be able to come to my long-dreamed ICU of West China Hospital for the second time. Here I saw all the doctors I had pictured in my mind. Their persistence and commitment comes from their enthusiasm and sense of responsibility. I have also pictured what I want to strive to be in the future. Thanks to my teachers, and ICU of West China Hospital!

I’m very happy to have met with all the teachers and friends. I hope that I can be admitted to the ICU next year, where I can meet my friends again!
With our love and enthusiasm about intensive care medical and West China Hospital,
we are highly focused and serious about our training.
When playing games, we work together in teams.
We share and experience together.
We are blessed with friendship as well as laughter here.
Time for graduation!
Remarks by Director Kang Yan from the Department of Intensive Care Medical, West China Hospital: The Intensive Care Summer Camp only lasted for three days. I am very glad that the students can come to the Department of Intensive Care Medical in West China Hospital and spend three days with us. The purpose of this camp is to describe the whole treatment process for intensive care patients from both the rational and emotional perspectives. We hope to use this opportunity to plant “seeds” of intensive care medical in students’ hearts. We also expect the seeds can take root, sprout, bloom and bear fruits in their hearts. Even if they do not choose this path in the future, I believe that the concepts of intensive care medical have been deeply rooted in their hearts, and laid a solid foundation for their better understanding of the intensive care in the future.
If we compare the three days of the summer camp to a movie,
The movie ends here, as well as the bonus scenes.
The story of the summer camp is over,
But your own stories are still going on.
We forward to some day in the future,
When you can meet again in the “campus of West China Medical Center”
Time flies, your story continues...
