James Naismith
Introduction of James Naismith
Professor Naismith is a well-known international structural biologist and chemical biologist.
He organized and led the CCCP4 program of computational software for structural biology, which greatly lowered the technical threshold for x-ray crystal diffraction data processing. He is one of the most important contributors to the wide application of structural biology.
He is a foreign expert introduced by the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, Sichuan University in The Recruitment Program of Global Experts, FRS, FMedsci, professor of structural biology in University of Oxford, and first director of Rosalind Franklin Institute, UK.
Rosalind Franklin Institute
Rosalind Franklin Institute was set up in honor of Rosalind Franklin, the first female scientist to acquire DNA structure and start research on virus structure.
The Institute is committed to combining multidisciplinary research and engineering techniques, developing transformative technologies for life science research, and pioneering innovative imaging technique from single molecule to complex life systems, so as to better observe life activities and life phenomena to promote R & D of drug and the prevention and treatment of human diseases.
Due to the schedule of Professor Naismith, the speech will be available only on Saturday morning. Professor Naismith is kind and approachable and his speech is interesting and easy to understand. Scholars, teachers and students interested in structural biology are warmly welcome to participate in the speech and actively communicate with each other.
