Suining Central Hospital (SCH) originated from "Boji Hospital" founded by the British Religious Society of Friends in 1914 with a history of over 100 years. It has now developed into a third-grade Class-A comprehensive hospital integrating medical care, teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care as a whole which is one of the 500 large comprehensive hospitals nationwide. The hospital has been successively awarded "National Civilized Unit", "National Advanced Unit of Spiritual Civilization Construction", "Provincial Best Civilization Unit", "Advanced Unit of Sichuan Health System", "Provincial and Municipal Consumer Satisfaction Unit", "National Excellent Baby-friendly Hospital". Being a non-direct affiliated hospital of North Sichuan Medical College and Chongqing Medical University, and a postgraduate student joint training base of Chongqing Medical University, North Sichuan Medical College and Zunyi Medical University, SCH undertakes the clinical teaching tasks of more than 10 medical colleges and universities in and outside Sichuan. It is one of the first batch of national standardized residency training bases, a provincial specialist doctor standardized training base, a provincial general practitioner post training base, and is the friendship hospital of Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa, Spain, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire d'Angers, France, and Seven Oaks General Hospital, Canada. It has established the first academician workstation in Suining, established Precision Oncology Laboratory in cooperation with J. Michael Bishop Institute of Cancer Research, and jointly established Suining Research Center for Big Data in Health and Medicine, a high standard biological sample bank, a gene sequencing laboratory with University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). SCH has appeared on China's Top 100 Prefecture-level City Hospital list for 6 consecutive years; In 2018, it ranked 60th in China's Prefecture-level City Hospital Competitiveness Rankings and 7th in Sichuan's hospital rankings, and 4 clinical specialties ranked among China's Top 30 Prefecture-level City Hospital Clinical Specialties. According to the Medical Service and Quality Report of Sichuan (2017) released by Health Commission of Sichuan Province, SCH ranks 8th overall in the province and 7 out of 10 clinical specialties being evaluated rank in the Top 10 Clinical Specialties.
